Aura of Intelligence for Tourism and Domestic Travel
Developing the qualified self through travel and personal intelligence
Luke Nathan Hayes | 27 October 2026
Australia has less than six years before Brisbane 2032. Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how people learn, work and make decisions. The prospect of superintelligence (SI), with capabilities beyond humans across many fields, raises the stakes further. The challenge is to give people a fair go through a global transition, with the understanding and practical means to shape their own lives. [R30]
The starting point is already in our pockets. A survey commissioned by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission found that 94% of Australians aged 14 and older had a smartphone for personal use in October-November 2024. Cameras, microphones and sensors bring computing into everyday encounters, while wearables and increasingly connected places extend the possibilities. [R27, R29]
Aura of Intelligence is my proposal for developing the qualified self: understanding ourselves through our own explanations, values, relationships and experience, with measurements adding context. Tourism gives that relationship an enjoyable setting. Music, sport, culture and nature offer ways to discover more about ourselves while engaging with the world.
A personal Aura that grows through life
Onboarding records a minimum viable self, the starting representation from which a digital twin of selected aspects of body, mind and life develops. Reflection and correction give observations meaning. Just-in-time learning brings useful guidance into the moment a question, challenge or opportunity arises. [P1-P2]
Self-sovereign data is foundational: people own their data and digital twins. They choose where records live, who uses them and what they take with them between services. Businesses earn through useful services people choose. This ownership and practical control guide the system being developed. [P1]
A Protopian gambit for a fair go
Australia's world-first social media minimum-age rules took effect in December 2025. That willingness to shape digital life gives us a reason to pursue an equally purposeful positive ambition. [R28]
My proposal is a Protopian gambit: a considered bet on Joyful Responsible Abundance, taking measured risks and improving through what we learn. It seeks enjoyment, care for consequences and wider access to useful capability. The years ahead give us time to begin, test honestly and build on what proves worthwhile. [P6]
I'm Luke Nathan Hayes, the developer of Aura of Intelligence. This domestic proposal begins on North Stradbroke Island, known as Straddie, and widens through Redlands, Brisbane, Queensland and Australia. It invites visitors, operators, volunteers, tourism bodies and public agencies to help shape that development.
The qualified self within an increasingly connected world
A phone already accompanies its owner through changing surroundings. A watch may add movement and pulse observations, while a camera captures a chosen view or a microphone records a reflection. AI brings new ways to work with those inputs, such as discussing an image or connecting an account with earlier experience. The qualified self develops as the person explains what those observations mean in their life. [R29, R31, R34]
Body mind and environment in the same encounter
Quantified self refers to observations expressed through measurements, such as steps, movement or heart rate. In this proposal those measurements join the person's own account: what they were attempting, feeling, learning and choosing. The source, time and conditions remain visible. An AI interpretation is returned for correction, with uncertainty kept alongside it.
Someone learning a sport might retain a short movement recording and an instructor's feedback. A visitor at a gig might describe how the music, company and setting changed their mood. A quiet walk may reveal what restores their attention. These are different kinds of evidence about a lived experience, with different meanings and permissions.
Extended reality brings information into places
Extended reality, shortened to XR, includes digital experiences layered into a view of the physical world or explored in an immersive environment. A phone or suitable glasses might show a host's authorised story at a location, while a headset offers a way to revisit an earlier place. Google's Android XR work illustrates the industry direction of AI using camera and microphone context through glasses and headsets. Particular products and Aura connections need their own implementation. [R31]
The opportunity is more fluent interaction between a person, their developing Aura and the world around them. A list, voice conversation or ordinary screen remains useful where it fits. Equipment follows the experience someone wants, with each data use understandable.
Smart places are already emerging
Smart city infrastructure uses connected devices and data to manage places and services. Queensland's smart pedestrian crossings adjust timing to detected movement. Redland City Council is trialling asset monitoring sensors at Cleveland Point. These are existing examples with specific purposes and operators. [R32-R33]
Future Aura trials would explore appropriate connections with published or agreed place information, such as service changes, access features and environmental conditions. City sensors do not automatically provide a public data feed or access to personal records. Each connection identifies its source, permission and purpose. With less than six years before 2032, early trials offer a way to learn now and improve through real visits and local feedback.
The experience Aura is being built to support
Aura is being developed as a continuing personal environment across devices, activities and stages of life. Tourism gives that work a lively setting: the person learns through encounters, the Aura develops a more faithful account of them, and hosts gain a clearer way to discuss an experience. The qualified self grows through this relationship. [P1-P2]
A working beginning within a larger direction
Aura Matrix Studio is the current public browser application. It includes editable personal collections covering people, interests, skills, goals, memories and travel. Experimental views explore relationships between records and places. Some screens remain placeholders; secure integration, personal model training and dependable action across services remain development work. [P2]
Those working parts support a first introduction to organising a life account. A tourism trial would then develop the connection between that account, chosen observations and real activities. A personal AI needs sources, examples of the person's meaning and corrections over time. Its usefulness depends on how faithfully it works with those records and responds to change.
Different ways to meet the same personal context
Verse Box is a proposed low cost public computer station for introducing Aura. A visitor centre, event or community venue might offer a demonstration using sample information before personal onboarding. The person's continuing Aura would have its own devices, services and privacy arrangements. [P1]
Aura's spatial design draws on aura and chakra concepts, reworked into a structure for organising information. One view uses nested horn tori, rounded surfaces meeting at a central point, to explore connected records. This offers a human readable way into the relationships beneath the tools. Conversation, lists, maps and XR experiences provide other forms of interaction. [P1-P2]
Develop capability through an actual encounter
An early experience might connect a reviewed starting self with a lesson, a performance or a walk. A person chooses what to record, gives an account afterwards and checks the resulting interpretation. Later encounters test whether their Aura has retained something useful about them.
Over time, trials would examine selected sensor inputs, authorised place information, personal AI assistance and interaction between people and services. Booking and enquiry tools support that experience where useful. They are practical functions within the wider relationship, whose purpose is understanding, agency and an enjoyable life.
A demonstration identifies its working functions and planned extensions. That lets a newcomer judge a real starting experience while understanding the larger ambition: a personal Aura that develops alongside increasingly capable intelligence and an increasingly connected environment.
Recording a minimum viable self
The minimum viable self is the first agreed representation of the person that gives their Aura a useful foundation. It brings body and mind into context: identity, language, values, relationships, relevant history, abilities, intentions and present circumstances. The starting uses determine the initial depth, with gaps and unanswered questions visible. [P1-P2]
Establish a person behind the observations
A visitor might describe their curiosity about Country, enjoyment of music, relationship with physical challenge and reasons for travelling alone or with others. Earlier experiences help explain those choices. Body context may include a chosen reference image, equipment measurements, movement needs or observations the person wants to explore.
| Part of the starting self | What gives the account useful context |
| Identity and circumstances | Chosen identity, communication, relevant body references and present circumstances. |
| Language, values and meaning | The person’s vocabulary, explanations, values, humour and reasons for choosing an experience. |
| Body and chosen observations | Relevant abilities, access needs and selected measurements, with source, conditions and uncertainty. |
| People, places and history | Relationships, earlier experiences and stories that explain what matters now. |
| Intentions and boundaries | Purposes, questions, agreed initiative, audiences and uses of information. |
Give inputs an origin and a meaning
The person identifies selected existing records and any observations they want to begin collecting. A photograph, a remembered story, a sensor reading and an AI interpretation retain their different origins. Device information includes the relevant time, conditions and known limitations. A self-description remains attributable to the person who gave it.
The initial review asks whether the Aura returns an account the person recognises, retrieves the relevant source and makes uncertainty understandable. They correct an interpretation, leave a question open or choose a different starting use. An optional avatar or body capture has a stated purpose and suitable arrangements; it is not a condition of exploring a sample demonstration.
The result begins a developing human and twin relationship. A music encounter may reveal a new interest; a walk may change how someone understands their energy; group travel may reveal a preferred way of sharing decisions. Those discoveries qualify the account through lived experience. The minimum viable self develops into a richer representation as the person and their Aura learn together.
A welcoming first encounter
Onboarding is the guided starting process through which a person meets Aura, records their minimum viable self and chooses the first experience to explore. Someone might want to learn through a day on Straddie, revisit earlier journeys or understand what they enjoy in group travel. Their own purpose shapes the encounter.
Meet the relationship before supplying personal material
A sample demonstration shows a personal record, its sources, a proposed interpretation and a correction. It also shows how a chosen observation might join an experience. The person sees where information stays, what an AI receives and how a usable copy is retained. An ordinary conversation or printed example offers another route into the idea.
A facilitator, the person helping with the introduction, explains their actual role. Someone may then continue independently or with agreed assistance. The starting session has a stated scope and time; depth develops through later encounters rather than assuming one questionnaire represents a whole life.
Choose what the first experience explores
A visitor might begin with an explanation of themselves, a few earlier memories and a current intention. They choose whether to include selected phone or wearable observations. Recording conditions identify the device, material, purpose and audience. A short capture for one activity does not imply continuous recording throughout a holiday.
An initial question might be, "What helps me feel curious and comfortable when I visit somewhere unfamiliar?" The person and Aura could explore a quieter outing, a shared workshop or a sporting lesson. The activity remains a worthwhile experience in its own right, with appropriate arrangements made by the host.
Return the account for recognition and correction
Afterwards, the visitor describes what mattered. The Aura would connect that account with the approved observations and earlier context, then offer an interpretation. "You enjoyed the challenge because there was time to practise and ask questions." The person confirms, changes or rejects it.
The next experience tests whether that understanding helps. It might support a different lesson, a conversation with a host or a decision to leave more unscheduled time. Information sharing and external actions follow specific permissions. Someone also has a clear way to pause, leave and retain their record. A useful beginning makes the qualified self tangible through experience, with trust developing from what the person is able to examine and correct.
A solo day on Straddie
Imagine Mia, an adult visiting from Brisbane, trying a developing Aura during a day on Straddie. Her first account includes curiosity about the island, enjoyment of music and a wish to understand what helps her feel refreshed. She likes solitary time and welcomes a conversation when it arises naturally. The purpose is to learn through a day worth enjoying.
Begin with the person and the actual place
Mia reviews a few earlier experiences and chooses a walk with time around it. Her plan keeps current transport sources and the return journey visible. Ferry and bus operators confirm their actual services. Those practical arrangements leave room for the experience rather than becoming the whole purpose of the Aura. [R7-R8]
For this trial, Mia chooses a brief voice reflection and selected movement observations from equipment whose connection has been tested. She decides the recording boundaries. Place information identifies the actual conditions and the source; it does not assume every island facility has a live sensor feed.
Notice what the measurements need to mean
During the walk she takes a photograph and later says, "I felt more awake when I stopped trying to fit everything in." A movement or pulse record may add context, but her explanation identifies the pleasure and reason. The Aura would retain the difference between a measurement, her recollection and its own proposed interpretation.
She notices an advertised music workshop and asks whether there is a place available. If she joins, the host explains what participation involves and what is welcome to record. Her Aura might later connect that encounter with an earlier interest in learning an instrument. It asks about the connection rather than treating a pattern as a settled truth.
Carry a richer understanding into the next day
Mia reviews the account and corrects it: solitude helped at the start, while the shared workshop made the afternoon memorable. The important pattern was freedom to change pace. She chooses one photograph, her own explanation and an authorised link to the workshop host.
On a later trip she would test whether her Aura uses that context faithfully. A useful result might be an invitation that leaves room to decide, or a question that helps her recognise a new interest. The qualified self grows through the relationship between observation, personal meaning and choice. The visit still belongs to Mia, with plenty of time to look up from the screen.
A group weekend with room for everyone
Four friends plan a Straddie weekend. Their interests include sport, live music, cultural experiences and time beside the water. Each has a different personal starting account. Their proposed group use of Aura explores how those lives meet: sharing decisions, learning from one another and enjoying time together while retaining personal space.
Agree what belongs in the shared experience
The friends choose what to contribute to a group plan: dates, commitments, relevant requirements and a few intentions. The shared account has that defined purpose. Someone's private reflection or body observations remain within their own arrangements unless they choose a particular disclosure.
They might agree on a meal and one common activity, then leave other time open. A proposed assistant explains options in relation to the group's stated intentions and the actual hosts' information. Bookings, payments and changes have named responsibility. Each person confirms actions taken on their behalf.
Learn through the experience of being together
During a lesson, one friend discovers they enjoy encouraging beginners. At a gig, another finds they prefer watching from the side with a clear view. Someone takes time alone and returns ready for conversation. Their own reflections give these moments meaning, alongside any observations they have chosen to retain.
A shared XR activity might let the friends explore an authorised place story or revisit selected memories together. Participation and recording follow the actual setting and each person's agreement. The Aura's role is to help connect experience with understanding, including where different people interpret the same moment differently.
Let the next encounter reflect what was learned
Afterwards, each friend reviews their own account before sharing anything further. A photograph might be welcome within the group but unwelcome on a public page. Authorship, corrections and reuse conditions remain with the material. An AI summary is returned for review rather than becoming the group's definitive history.
The next trip might make better room for differing energy, new interests and spontaneous invitations. Family and supported travel would bring their own age, care and permission arrangements. Those are defined for the participants and activities involved.
The wider value is a developing relationship between personal and social understanding. People learn what they enjoy, how they relate to others and what they want to offer or try. Their Auras gain context through that living, with sharing shaped by purpose and choice.
Developing the qualified self through travel
A record becomes useful when someone understands what it means in their life. Travel gives that understanding new material: unfamiliar settings, different people, changing routines and the opportunity to attempt something they have not done before. The qualified self develops as the person explains, questions and revises the account.
Ask what an observation explains
A long walk might reflect curiosity, a missed connection or simply the pleasure of company. A raised pulse may accompany exertion or excitement; a device reading alone does not establish its cause. A person's account, the conditions and the limitations of the equipment belong beside the measurement. [R34]
After an experience, Aura would help explore what held attention, what felt difficult and why a change of pace mattered. The person chooses the depth of reflection. An interpretation is linked to its sources and returned for recognition, with alternative explanations and uncertainty visible.
Develop judgement alongside personalisation
The relationship involves learning how to question the AI too. Why did it suggest that activity? Which earlier records informed it? Is it relying on an assumption the person has outgrown? A confident answer is examined through its reasoning and sources. The person learns to work with intelligence while retaining their own judgement.
Solitary travel offers room to notice personal responses. Group travel adds negotiation, care, humour and different perspectives. An Aura might connect a new experience with an earlier story, then invite the person to explain whether that connection is meaningful. Their correction becomes useful material for later encounters.
Let understanding lead to a chosen next step
Someone discovering a love of music might seek a local class at home. A volunteer might recognise a skill they want to develop. A visitor may decide that travel with fewer commitments gives them more room to engage. Those are different kinds of progress, determined by the person rather than a universal score.
The longer design includes adapting a personal language model, software that learns language patterns from examples. Authorised personal material and corrections would inform that work, with testing of faithful representation and information use. Retrieval, finding relevant existing records, is a separate function from changing a model through training. [P1-P2]
Success is a more useful, revisable relationship between person and Aura. Evaluation would examine self-understanding, judgement, practical agency and enjoyment, including occasions when the system misunderstands. A growing qualified self has room for contradiction and change, as well as increasingly rich records.
A memory palace for places and experiences
A memory palace is a personal collection organised around meaningful places. A path, beach view, music venue or holiday kitchen becomes a way to return to the experiences associated with it. Aura proposes connecting photographs, recordings, objects and accounts with their locations and personal meaning. It gives the developing qualified self a spatial history to explore. [P1]
Link the encounter with what it meant
A visitor might open a view of a music venue and find the artist's authorised page, their own reflection and a memory of the friend who joined them. A sports ground might link an earlier attempt with a later achievement. A chosen observation retains the conditions in which it was recorded, so later interpretation has useful context.
The record distinguishes what was observed, what the person remembers, what a host authorised and what an AI inferred. An uncertain date remains approximate. A generated illustration is labelled as such. These distinctions help a person explore connections without quietly turning a plausible reconstruction into a fact.
Bring earlier places into a present experience
XR offers one way to revisit a location or place a selected memory within a current view. An ordinary screen, spoken request or printed album provides other ways to find the same material. The interface follows the person's purpose and the actual conditions of use.
Aura's public Lifetime Memory Map is an editable example of organising one person's places and remembered experiences. It remains a work in progress with illustrative landscapes and incomplete supporting evidence. It shows a possible form of navigation, while a personal tourism collection would need its own arrangements. [P5]
Develop a record that remains open to change
Returning to a place may reveal a different response. The crowded festival once enjoyed may now suit a shorter visit; an overlooked workshop may become a lasting interest. A person and their Aura would compare the contexts and ask what changed, with the present account receiving its own place.
Private accommodation, other people's stories and culturally restricted material follow relevant permissions. A personal memory might stay private while an authorised general account is shared. The collection identifies its audiences and retains a usable copy through changes of device or provider.
The benefit being sought is continuity of meaning. A place helps someone find a story; that story helps them understand a choice or relationship; a new experience revises the account. The memory palace becomes part of learning with the Aura through life, as well as a way to enjoy a trip again.
Music and the pleasure of finding your scene
A person may arrive for a concert, discover a local songwriter or join a workshop on impulse. Music brings attention, movement, emotion, memory and company into the same encounter. It is a rich setting for developing the qualified self because the person has something enjoyable and meaningful to explain.
Discover what makes an experience yours
An Aura would begin with the visitor's account of music and earlier experiences. A proposed suggestion identifies why an event seems relevant, the current source and any commercial influence. The actual offer still describes the venue, artist, timing, price, access and transport arrangements so the visitor knows what they are considering.
During an agreed activity, someone might choose a short reflection, a movement record or a particular wearable observation. Those inputs add context to what the person says. The system does not infer a settled emotion from a signal. "I felt part of the crowd when everyone sang" gives the observation a meaning the person recognises.
Let creation become part of the learning
A workshop might involve learning a rhythm, writing a few lines or exploring how a song connects with a place. The visitor retains their own work and the material the host has authorised. An Aura might later compare what the person wanted to express with how their intention developed through practice.
Future XR experiences could connect an authorised performance or artist's story with a venue, or let a person revisit their own creative work in a shared environment. Those are proposed experiences to develop with artists and hosts. An artist's choices about their work remain part of the agreement.
Support the people making the experience possible
Local artists provide an approved introduction and links to their work. Visitors then have a way to follow a musician, buy an authorised recording or attend another event. Performer payment, production responsibilities and relevant permissions are explicit. OneMusic Australia publishes guidance on public performance licensing; payment to the artist and consent to film have different purposes. [R19]
A visitor may simply keep a song name and a personal recollection. Recording, publication and AI training uses would each be checked for the relevant permissions. The trial would examine discovery, enjoyment, creative learning and faithful reflection, alongside the effort asked of hosts. The desired continuity is a person who understands more about their musical life and an Aura better able to work with that understanding.
Sport recreation and having a go
Sport makes the relationship between intention, body, environment and learning tangible. A visitor might try an unfamiliar activity, return to an old interest or enjoy a match with friends. Aura's proposed role is to help the person understand that experience and carry useful context into the next one.
Begin with what the person wants to explore
A starting account may describe curiosity, earlier skills, body context and the pleasure of a challenge. The host explains the actual activity, expected effort, equipment, access and conditions. Selected measurements or a body representation help preparation where relevant; the operator assesses suitability for the particular activity and their professional role.
A trial might use an agreed movement recording, timing or wearable observation alongside an instructor's feedback. Device readings retain their source and limitations. The person's account explains how the attempt felt and what they were trying to do. The qualified self develops through those relationships, with competence demonstrated through the activity itself.
Practise with intelligence that understands the context
An Aura would help retrieve an instructor approved tip, compare earlier attempts or prepare a question. A future XR demonstration might place an authorised movement example beside a practice space, with the actual equipment and setting checked for suitability. These functions need testing for the task and people involved.
Afterwards, the person might discover that a patient introduction mattered more than the difficulty of the activity. Another person enjoys competition and wants a next challenge. Their reflections and choices guide what the Aura retains about progress. An activity record is useful evidence of experience, with any qualification or formal assessment remaining identifiable through its actual issuer.
Engage with the place as it changes
Coastal recreation brings current conditions into the encounter. Beachsafe provides beach and patrol information; the Bureau of Meteorology provides forecasts and warnings. An Aura would keep the source and check time visible, while the host and responsible services make the decisions belonging to them. [R24, R26]
Connected facilities and published place information may offer additional context through future agreements. A spectator visit might also develop knowledge of a sport, social confidence or an interest in volunteering. The trial would examine those outcomes alongside preparation and enjoyment.
Success might be a new skill, a better question, a decision to try again or a clear understanding of an activity the person does not enjoy. Their developing Aura follows the person through those discoveries, with space for both ambition and rest.
Culture food and the people who host a place
Culture develops through living relationships with place, language, art, food and history. A visitor brings their own memories and assumptions into that encounter. Aura would help them ask thoughtful questions, retain authorised material and reflect on how an experience changes their understanding of themselves and others.
Country has living custodians
Minjerribah is Quandamooka Country. The Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation, shortened to QYAC, manages native title rights and interests and jointly manages Naree Budjong Djara National Park with the State. A proposed hosted cultural experience would be arranged with the people holding the relevant knowledge and authority. [R9-R10]
A host determines what they offer, how it is described and the conditions for recording or reuse. Creative Australia, the national arts funding and advisory body, publishes protocols for working with First Nations cultural and intellectual property. Those protocols guide collaboration and the agreements around cultural material. [R18]
Use new interfaces to deepen a real encounter
An authorised XR experience might connect a story, artwork or earlier image with the location a person is visiting. Translation or an accessible explanation may help someone engage, with the host reviewing meaning where needed. The technology presents authorised material and identifies its source; interpretation remains open to correction.
The visitor's personal reflection has a different purpose. They might record a question about their own assumptions or explain why a story reminded them of home. Their Aura would retain that response as their account, while cultural knowledge keeps its authorship and conditions. A public source does not automatically authorise model training or commercial reuse.
Food gives understanding an everyday setting
A shared meal may connect someone with a new ingredient, a cooking skill or a familiar memory. A visitor might explore what they enjoy about preparing food with others and what they want to try at home. An Aura could retain an agreed recipe, the person's own observations and the reason the experience mattered.
Practical questions about ingredients, allergies, access and timing receive the provider's actual response. Food businesses and organised activities follow requirements for their service and location. [R11]
The trial would examine whether the interfaces make an encounter more understandable and enjoyable, whether personal interpretations remain faithful and whether hosts find participation worthwhile. The developing qualified self includes a person learning how to be a guest, question an assumption and appreciate a place through the people sharing it.
Enjoying nature while caring for the place
A person encounters an environment through movement, attention, weather, wildlife and the meaning a place holds for them. Aura would connect selected observations with that lived context. A quieter walk, an outdoor lesson or a community garden activity offers a way to develop the qualified self while learning about the place supporting the experience.
Connect personal observations with environmental context
A visitor might retain a chosen route segment, a photograph and an account of how conditions affected the outing. An available weather or environmental record adds context, with the source and time visible. A person's comfort is reported by them; a public measurement describes the conditions it actually measured.
Smart city infrastructure introduces more observations about places. Redland City Council's Cleveland Point sensor trial concerns public asset use and maintenance. Queensland's smart crossings respond to detected pedestrian movement. These illustrate different purposes for sensing, with access and accountability determined by the responsible operator. [R32-R33]
Future Aura work would examine useful connections to published or specifically agreed information. It would keep the distinction between a private personal record, public place data and information retained by a service. A sensor installed in a place is not automatically available to a visitor's AI.
Enjoy the place within its real capacity
Parks guidance explains the sensitive environments and joint management of Naree Budjong Djara National Park. Current alerts, permitted access and the arrangements for an organised activity belong with planning. Commercial activity requirements are checked for the actual service and location. [R10-R11]
A proposed contribution might be a suitable garden activity or supervised litter collection. The host explains the purpose, equipment, time and limits. Someone else may simply enjoy birdwatching or a picnic. Participation follows interest, with the holiday itself remaining worthwhile.
Learn from consequences as well as impressions
A visitor might notice a difficult access point or confusing information and choose to raise it with the responsible organisation. The record identifies what was observed and what remains unknown. An environmental benefit claim needs a suitable measure; attendance or a bag count alone does not establish restoration.
Joyful Responsible Abundance brings enjoyment, care for consequences and wider access to useful capability into the same question: does this experience make life better for people and the place? Hosts, residents and relevant communities help judge the answer. Their feedback shapes whether an invitation grows, changes or is withdrawn.
An enjoyable visit with access needs understood
Accessible tourism concerns whether someone is able to use an experience; inclusion concerns being welcomed and participating on their own terms. Aura's personal approach begins with the activity a person wants to enjoy and their own account of what helps. A fuller qualified self gives those requirements context without defining the person by them. [R20]
Develop useful personal context across encounters
Someone may describe how they communicate, the pace they prefer or the practical conditions affecting participation. Their own wording is retained and revised through experience. A previous venue's arrangement helps prepare a question, while the next host confirms its actual offer.
The person might choose captions, voice, a clearer screen, an XR preview or a human conversation. A preview of a place may help them understand arrival, sound, movement and facilities before going. Its source and date remain visible, and the host checks features that affect the actual visit.
Connect the interface with a real environment
Austrade, the Australian Government's trade and investment agency, publishes the WELCOME Framework as practical accessible tourism guidance. It emphasises accurate descriptions and a way to speak to a person about requirements. This supports the proposed relationship between a personal account, useful information and a confirmed service response. [R21]
Connected infrastructure may assist particular tasks. Queensland's sensor responsive crossings adjust timing to movement, for example. Their operation does not imply an existing connection with an Aura. Any further interaction would have a defined purpose and arrangement. [R32]
An Aura would help a visitor prepare an enquiry such as, "I want to join the workshop and need a seated rest about every ten minutes." The business explains the actual route and available arrangements. The person chooses what supporting detail to disclose.
Keep participation and self development in view
The goal might be music, sport, a cultural encounter or time with friends. After the visit, the person reflects on what made participation enjoyable or difficult. Their Aura would link that account with agreed observations and practical arrangements, then offer an interpretation for review.
A companion or paid support worker may assist under clear arrangements. Existing care and funding pathways keep their own purposes and rules. Trials involving particular ages or support needs would identify appropriate participants, communication, authority and assistance for the activity.
Evaluation would examine the whole journey and the person's experience of directing it. A useful result is a richer account of what supports a satisfying visit, an operator better able to describe its offer and a personal Aura that responds faithfully to the person's changing life.
A useful relationship for tourism operators
Tourism operators provide the real experiences through which visitors explore, learn and develop. Aura proposes a more useful connection between a host's offer and the qualified self: what the person hopes to experience, the context they choose to share and what they learn afterwards. Business benefit follows from delivering something people value.
Describe an experience people understand
An operator confirms the activity, people delivering it, price, capacity, access, booking route and conditions. An authorised story, demonstration or XR preview may enrich that description. Information identifies its source and update responsibility so the personal assistant has a clear basis for explaining an option.
| Moment | Person and Aura explore | Host contributes |
| Before | Intention and relevant personal context. | An accurate offer and preparation. |
| Experience | Chosen observations and participation. | The activity and agreed information. |
| Review | Meaning and a revisable interpretation. | Authorised feedback and corrections. |
| Return | What was learned and what comes next. | A suitable invitation or service. |
Explore services that learn with their guests
A lesson host might offer an approved movement example and feedback the visitor keeps. A cultural host might provide authorised material linked to a place. An event operator might make access and current programme information easier to find. Each use has a defined purpose and agreement, with the visitor choosing what enters their personal account.
Where a business uses sensors or connected equipment, the service identifies what is measured, who receives it and how it is interpreted. A proposed Aura connection needs the relevant permission and technical testing. A useful business record and a private reflection have different audiences.
Operators also learn from guests' chosen feedback. A confusing arrival or a helpful adjustment becomes a concrete service improvement. Shared findings describe the experience without assuming access to the person's whole archive. A guest's continuing Aura belongs to their wider life.
Build a business case through worthwhile outcomes
Evaluation would examine suitable participation, repeat interest, visitor understanding and the effort of maintaining the service. It would also record errors and occasions when the technology adds work. Booking and enquiry functions are assessed as supporting tools within that experience.
The offer identifies setup and running charges, any referral income, support and rights to retain usable business information. Commercial model development follows evidence about what hosts and visitors value. The larger opportunity is an Australian visitor economy developing personal intelligence, creative experiences and practical capability together, with local operators shaping the services they deliver.
Volunteers developing experience and civic capability
Volunteering gives people a way to contribute, learn and form relationships through music, sport, culture, environmental activities and welcoming visitors. Aura proposes to connect those experiences with a developing qualified self. A person's intentions, observed activity, host feedback and reflection build a richer account of what they know and want to try.
Begin with a role worth doing
The host explains the task, location, time, supervision, access, expenses and contact for concerns. The person shares relevant experience and interests, with actual credentials checked where required. A personal record provides context; competence and formal qualifications have their own evidence.
The National Standards for Volunteer Involvement, published by Volunteering Australia and supported by state peak bodies, provide practice guidance on meaningful roles, support, safety, recognition and improvement. They give the human arrangements around a trial a clear reference. [R16]
Learn with the Aura through a real role
A new volunteer might practise explaining an activity, learn how to ask about access or discover they enjoy helping a group feel welcome. Their Aura could retrieve approved role information, rehearse a situation or help reflect afterwards. A future XR rehearsal might explore a venue or a host reviewed scenario before the person takes part.
Selected observations have a defined purpose. A volunteer may keep their own account and an agreed host confirmation. Recording other people or reusing a role encounter for training receives a specific arrangement. The record keeps the difference between observed work, personal interpretation and formal assessment visible.
Make progress possible without blurring responsibilities
Try Everything Once is Aura's wider proposal for supported opportunities to experience different useful activities. Tourism offers a varied setting, from event welcoming to a garden project. Civic stewardship means voluntary care for community life, with each person free to choose their involvement. [P6]
The Fair Work Ombudsman explains that actual arrangements determine whether an employment relationship exists. Paid work and volunteering retain their applicable terms; community recognition does not replace pay entitlements. Queensland's workplace guidance also distinguishes relevant safety duties and workers' compensation coverage, which the host checks for the role. [R15, R17]
Across the years to 2032, people and their Auras could develop through increasingly demanding or varied roles as they choose. Hosts would judge readiness for actual tasks, with suitable training and support. The intended result is growing judgement, useful skills and social understanding, carried into the next invitation and ordinary life.
Community Hours and a fair exchange of goodwill
One Community-Hour, shortened to C-Hour, recognises one verified hour of voluntary human contribution. It forms part of a proposed reciprocity economy: communities choose how to recognise contributions and what opportunities to offer. C-Hour has no monetary value or financial entitlement. Its purpose is to improve the fabric of society. [P6]
Connect contribution with the person developing
A visitor joins an organised garden activity for 90 minutes. An agreed account records the task, time, host confirmation and what was contributed. That represents one and a half C-Hours. The person may separately reflect on what they learned, how they worked with others and whether they want to return.
Their Aura would connect those experiences with the wider self record. A practical skill, a new relationship and a changed intention add context to the qualified self. Confirmation of time has a specific purpose; it does not certify every interpretation of the person's experience.
Let communities shape their reciprocal opportunities
A community might offer access to a gathering, a private event or shared equipment. The host describes availability, conditions and any ordinary costs. The opportunity is locally chosen, with a clear account before someone relies on it. A contribution record does not create a universal claim on other people's resources.
A proposed Aura service would use agreed activity information and a brief conversation to prepare recognition, asking where something needs clarification. The person reviews the record. A host or recipient helps confirm it where their knowledge is useful, with a straightforward correction process.
Healthy De-Slop is an Aura example of community shaped wellbeing co-operatives: people organising shared spaces, activities and resources. A food or garden activity illustrates a possible setting for reciprocal invitations. Local people decide what to establish and offer. [P7]
A fair go within growing capability
As AI handles more administrative work, the aim is for people to have more room for worthwhile activity and relationships. C-Hours recognise human contribution within that possibility. Paid employment, business invoices and financial support retain their own terms and records.
Tourism trials would ask whether reciprocity strengthens relationships between visitors and hosts, whether recognition adds little effort and whether the invitation is understood. People who choose a quiet holiday or simply attend an event participate through the ordinary arrangements. Essential care and personal dignity remain independent of contribution.
Across a longer development programme, the intended benefit is continuity between learning about oneself, contributing by choice and receiving a welcome into community life. More recorded hours alone would not demonstrate that result. The people involved judge whether the fabric of society has improved.
Understanding the rules through everyday relevance
The qualified self includes a person who understands the context of their choices. Tourism brings that into everyday situations: using a connected device, joining a lesson, sharing a recording or agreeing to a service. Aura's legal relevance work asks where a rule came from, what it affects and how to examine its continuing effects.
Begin with the person and the actual activity
Your Relevance is a public questionnaire that prepares a legal research brief from chosen circumstances. Questions are optional and broad descriptions are enough. The current form retains answers in the tab unless device saving or export is chosen; it has no automatic AI connection. [P3]
A visitor might ask about recording through glasses during a workshop. A host might ask about using public place data or sharing observations from connected equipment. Research identifies the activity, location, participants and particular use. Personal agreement, copyright, cultural permission, service terms and law may matter for different reasons.
Follow the origin and effect of a rule
The Australian Law 2012 collection grew from everyday paperwork and the laws behind it. It is a historical starting point for following those connections. A current decision needs the operative source, jurisdiction, date and relevant changes checked. An inherited practice, a facility rule and a legal requirement remain distinguishable. [P3-P4]
The associated Australian Legal Engine has a working prototype that reads held Acts of Parliament, retrieves sections and traces references. Its present collection is historical. Automated updating and maintained coverage across jurisdictions remain development work. The explanation of the engine identifies those working parts and the larger direction. [P4]
Develop understanding alongside capability
A useful explanation identifies the retrieved source, its apparent relevance and what remains unresolved. The person asks questions in their own language and chooses a level of detail that helps them understand. An AI interpretation stays open to checking and correction. Qualified advice follows the appropriate professional relationship where needed.
Business Queensland's tourism guidance provides a route to requirements for the actual service and location. Australia's social media age rules also show that the legal setting for digital services is changing. A future Aura function would be assessed on what it actually does and who uses it. [R11, R28]
The intended benefit is growing agency: someone knows what they are agreeing to, understands the origin of a restriction and has a way to seek a reasoned response. That learning travels with the person and their Aura into later decisions, including discussions about how public systems might improve.
Clear offers bookings and service responsibilities
Practical services give an experience a dependable setting. A personal Aura might help arrange a lesson, attend an event or enquire about access, while the qualified self develops through the encounter. The visitor knows what is being offered and who answers for it before committing money, information or time.
Relate the service to the person's intention
The comparison identifies the actual seller, activity, total price, inclusions, availability, access and terms. It explains why an option appears relevant to the person's stated purpose, including any paid placement or referral income. Personalisation is understandable through its sources and reasoning.
An operator confirms delivery, changes and complaints arrangements. A group identifies who is booking and paying. A proposed assistant acting on someone's behalf has a specific permission covering the action, provider, spending limit and confirmation. Agreement to keep an experience record is separate from buying a service.
Make connected experiences equally clear
A workshop using sensors might identify what equipment records and what the visitor receives afterwards. An XR experience explains whether it uses current footage, a reconstruction or an illustration. A shared activity identifies audiences and recording conditions. Those details let a person consider the experience as a whole.
Future connections with booking and service software need agreements and testing. Early trials may use ordinary links and staff assistance while examining the wider personal relationship. Current capability and the particular offer are described accurately.
Deal with changes through the actual process
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the national competition and consumer regulator, explains consumer guarantees for travel services. Remedies after a delay or cancellation depend on circumstances. Changing one's mind or missing a service for reasons unrelated to the provider is different. Terms do not displace applicable consumer rights. [R12]
Aura would help retain confirmations, provider notices, sources and the person's question. The provider responds through its actual process, with a readable record supporting any further enquiry. Operators continue to use the qualifications, permissions and safety arrangements relevant to their work. [R11]
A trial also identifies who supports the Aura functions, their charges and what happens if equipment or software fails. The visitor retains useful records and a contact for unresolved matters. These arrangements support the larger ambition: a person free to explore and learn with intelligence through services whose responsibilities remain understandable.
Owning a personal Aura and choosing how its data is used
Self-sovereign data means people own their data and digital twins, with practical control over where they live and how they are used. The qualified self grows through chosen observations and experience. Aura's proposed services work for the person, with businesses earning through services the person chooses. [P1-P2]
Keep personal meaning within its chosen context
Public, private and secret describe different contexts of expression and access. Public material is selected for outward sharing. Private material supports chosen uses and relationships. Secret material is especially closely held, with more specific boundaries. Working controls give those choices practical effect. [P1]
A venue might receive a booking name and an access question. A personal reflection on the encounter has a different audience. Sensor streams, photographs and transcripts may also contain information about other people. Their capture and use are explained for the actual setting, including when a device is recording and how it is stopped.
Explain sensing interpretation and action separately
An observation may be stored on a phone, processed by an AI service and used in a summary. The arrangement identifies those steps, the readable access involved and retained copies. A model's interpretation is distinguishable from the original record. Training that changes a model has its own source and reuse decisions.
Home Level Zero, shortened to L0, means the person and their controlled private environment, including chosen devices, storage and services. Travel introduces portable access, backups and support after loss. The intended service includes usable copies of records and the digital twin, with a route to move them elsewhere and an explanation of software licences and provider dependencies. [P1]
Matrix Studio's browser storage is a starting implementation, with protected integration still to develop. Trial setups need tested access, clearing of shared devices, correction, deletion and recovery. Planned sensor and city connections are identified individually before use. [P2]
Make responsibilities visible through change
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the national privacy regulator, publishes Australian Privacy Principles on collection, use, access and correction. Coverage depends on the organisation and circumstances, including exceptions affecting small businesses. Government participants assess the duties applying to their own role. [R13-R14]
The service explains retention, complaints and limits on withdrawing material already delivered or lawfully retained. Public place information has its own operator and access conditions. A connected city does not give government routine access to a private Aura, or give the Aura unrestricted access to city systems. A useful connection is explicit about its purpose and information flow.
Engaging with responsive places and changing conditions
The qualified self develops within a changing world. Weather, movement, service availability, crowds and the physical setting affect an experience. Aura would help connect a person's chosen observations and intentions with reliable information about that environment, while identifying who operates each source or service.
Bring personal and place context together
A visitor planning a walk might consider the route, transport, forecast and their own account of pace and comfort. An approved movement record and later reflection may help explain what worked. The meaning stays with the person, while each measurement retains the conditions it actually describes.
For Straddie, ferry and bus operators provide current service information. A proposed assistant would retain source and check time, with actual ticketing and connections confirmed through the provider. A reliable return journey leaves room to enjoy the visit. [R7-R8]
Explore appropriate connections with smart infrastructure
Queensland's smart crossings adjust timing in response to detected movement. Redlands' asset monitoring trial observes public asset use and maintenance needs. These examples show that environments already contain responsive systems, with specific purposes and accountability. [R32-R33]
Future Aura trials could examine agreed access to useful place information and authorised ways to interact with services. A venue may publish an updated access description; transport information may show a disruption; a host may provide a current activity notice. Each connection is developed against its actual source and permission, rather than assuming a general smart city interface exists.
Keep current conditions and decisions identifiable
The Bureau of Meteorology publishes forecasts and warnings. QLDTraffic provides road and traffic information. Parks, service operators and authorities publish their own alerts. Their sources and check times accompany any proposed use in a personal plan. A saved copy remains identifiable as a copy. [R24-R25]
An XR view might make an authorised place description easier to understand, but current closures and instructions still govern the actual activity. A changed plan offers room for a different experience, a shorter visit or returning another day. The service includes a human contact and usable records if the technology is unavailable.
Across trials, the question is whether this relationship improves understanding and practical agency. The person learns about their response to conditions; the Aura learns from reviewed context; hosts receive relevant feedback where the visitor chooses. Connected infrastructure becomes part of a more understandable environment, with the person remaining an active participant in it.
Straddie as a place to develop the relationship
Straddie brings body, mind, community and environment into the same visit. Music, sport, culture and nature offer experiences through which a person and their Aura would learn together. Beginning here means working with residents, hosts and the people whose Country and daily life make the place what it is.
Establish a first working experience
The starting trial would develop a minimum viable self, an agreed activity, selected observations and a review of what those observations mean. Participant numbers and duration would follow the actual hosts, resources and purposes. Preparation would identify the responsible organisation, suitable participants, support, equipment and permissions.
| Part | First experience | What the trial examines |
| Starting self | Chosen words, records and context. | Recognition, sources and correction. |
| Observation | Agreed activity and selected inputs. | Data quality and personal meaning. |
| Reflection | An interpretation returned for review. | Faithfulness, uncertainty and judgement. |
| Continuity | A later encounter uses reviewed context. | What carries forward and helps. |
Grow what the person is able to explore
A walk could connect a person's account of attention and energy with chosen observations and conditions. A music workshop could develop creative intention and reflection. A sporting lesson could connect practice, instructor feedback and body context. The early experience is small enough to examine, with the full relationship remaining in view.
Later work would test selected wearable or phone connections, richer personal models and authorised XR material. Public or agreed place information would enter through defined relationships. Current prototype functions and new development are described accurately at each stage.
Let the place help shape development
Cultural hosts and land managers decide the relevant participation and permissions for their setting. Operators identify useful service functions and the effort required. Residents provide feedback about local effects, including when a recommendation creates pressure in one place. The person using Aura retains their own reasons for participating.
Evaluation would examine recognition of the self account, correction, learning, agency and enjoyment. It would also record staff effort, errors, unwanted effects and reasons for leaving. Findings would determine which functions continue, what changes and where a second setting offers a useful test.
This is the beginning of a development programme extending towards 2032. A first local trial establishes an experience people recognise and a process for improving it. Repeated visits then examine whether the qualified self and the personal intelligence relationship become more useful through time, with hosts and communities shaping how the work grows.
Widening through Redlands and Brisbane
A person travels between places with a developing account of themselves. Their Aura would carry useful context across an island visit, a city performance, a sports venue and ordinary life at home. Redlands and Brisbane offer a next setting for testing continuity between encounters and engagement with increasingly connected environments.
Connect learning across different experiences
Someone might attend a Brisbane concert, visit a Redlands gallery and spend a day on Straddie. A new interest could lead to a workshop at home. A volunteer may discover a role they want to develop at another event. The Aura would relate those encounters through the person's own account, with each host confirming the service it actually offers.
Selected observations and authorised media retain their sources. An interpretation formed during one encounter is tested in the next. The person might find that an apparent preference depended on the company, sound or time available. Their account grows through those qualifications rather than becoming a fixed visitor category.
Learn with the institutions shaping places
Redland City Council's published destination and place projects provide context for discussing a defined contribution. Its Cleveland Point sensor trial also illustrates current work with connected public assets. Queensland's responsive pedestrian crossings include Brisbane sites. These are opportunities to ask specific questions about useful, permitted information and interaction. [R6, R32-R33]
A proposed connection would identify the accountable operator, available information, technical work and permissions. It would not presume access to a public system. Cultural organisations, artists and local businesses likewise determine their own material and offers.
Develop a dependable second setting
Expansion would begin with willing hosts, current descriptions and actual support. Trials would test how personal context travels between devices and providers, how an XR experience is understood and how a correction reaches a later encounter. A person also needs usable access when connectivity or equipment changes.
Residents exploring nearby places are part of this domestic development. Short visits offer repeated opportunities to learn and test without organising a major holiday. A personal Aura remains useful beyond the destination where the introduction occurred.
Evidence would cover self-understanding, agency, enjoyment, service quality and the work asked of hosts. It would also examine local effects and willingness to continue. A dependable second setting gives the wider Queensland and Australian programme a useful foundation, while revealing which parts depend on the particular community and place.
An Australian opportunity in personal intelligence
Australia has a substantial domestic setting in which to develop this relationship. Tourism Research Australia reports 27.1 million overnight trips and 74.2 million day trips by Australian residents in the June quarter of 2026. Those are trips, not unique people. Repeated domestic experiences offer practical opportunities to examine a personal Aura growing through different places and stages of life. [R1]
Shape digital life through positive capability
Australia's social media minimum-age legislation is a world-first national step. Since 10 December 2025, covered platforms have been required to take reasonable steps to prevent under-16s creating or keeping accounts. The eSafety Commissioner, Australia's online safety regulator, explains the obligations and implementation. [R28]
My argument is that Australia has a reason to extend its digital ambition into positive ways of living with AI, SI and XR. Aura is my proposed approach: develop the qualified self, place useful intelligence in a personal relationship and let people learn through worthwhile real-world experiences. Legislation and practical invention contribute different parts of that national direction.
Connect tourism leadership with a defined programme
Tourism and Events Queensland, or TEQ, is the State's lead marketing, experience development and major events agency. Destination 2045 is the Queensland Government's long term tourism plan. A proposal to them would connect domestic visitor experiences with personal intelligence, creative participation and the evidence from local development. [R2, R4]
Tourism Australia is the Australian Government tourism marketing agency. Its statutory objectives include domestic travel, while its current public role description emphasises international visitor attraction. Australian trials would first establish usefulness here, with later industry learning considered within its remit. [R3]
Austrade coordinates THRIVE 2030, the national visitor economy strategy. Its 2026 action plan addresses regional experiences, modernisation, workforce, accessibility, sustainability and better data. A qualified-self programme would bring a specific proposition to those priorities: develop people's understanding and capability through the experience of visiting and hosting a place. [R5]
Offer a domestic path with wider relevance
The initial geography is Straddie, Redlands and Brisbane, then other willing Queensland and Australian settings. Each has its own hosts, cultural relationships, infrastructure and capacity. The aim is a transferable personal relationship, with local differences understood rather than erased.
The years before 2032 offer time to create evidence, build useful capability and develop commercial and public arrangements. A successful demonstration would show what people and their Auras have learned through living, supported by dependable services and communities that find participation worthwhile.
Developing towards Brisbane 2032
From October 2026, Australia has less than six years before Brisbane's Olympic and Paralympic Games. The window calls for an early start and sustained development, with people, personal Auras and host communities learning together. The Games provide a public milestone; useful progress begins through ordinary experiences well before it.
A proposed sequence for the years ahead
The stages below describe my proposed development direction. Timing would respond to results, resources, available technology and the people choosing to participate. It is not an official Games programme.
| Period | Proposed development | Evidence to establish |
| 2026 to 2027 | Starting selves and first local experiences. | Recognition, correction and useful continuity. |
| 2028 to 2029 | Selected sensors, XR and cross-setting trials. | Faithful context, access and dependable connections. |
| 2030 to 2031 | Broader participation and civic practice. | Transferable learning and viable delivery. |
| 2032 onwards | Public demonstration and continuing use. | Lived benefit and capability that lasts. |
Build continuity between stages
A starting participant might return through several experiences, retaining useful records and choosing what develops next. Their Aura would be tested for faithful recall, correction, appropriate initiative and handling of new contexts. Hosts would examine the visitor experience and practical effort, including what breaks when a function moves to another setting.
Technology would be reviewed as it becomes available. A new phone, wearable, model or XR interface enters through a defined use and suitable testing. The personal relationship and usable records give continuity as components change. More capable intelligence is an opportunity to examine through results, rather than a date the programme needs to predict.
Develop people as well as software
Participants would learn to question explanations, recognise uncertainty, direct an assistant and understand the effects of sharing information or authorising actions. Volunteers and hosts would develop practical judgement through real roles. Creative and cultural experiences give that learning enjoyment and meaning.
The wider aim is Australians growing into capable participants in an increasingly intelligent environment. That includes people creating experiences, improving services, contributing to community decisions and choosing how to spend their time. The qualified self remains the organising purpose through that development.
Public evidence would identify what has been demonstrated, what remains experimental and the resources needed for continuation. By 2032, a substantial working example would have years of experience behind it. The continuing value after the Games would be people, relationships and capability that remain useful in everyday life.
Civic capability and the Brisbane 2032 horizon
Brisbane 2032 is Queensland's Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games manages delivery, including volunteer recruitment, marketing and Games-time venue operations. Official roles follow its processes. [R22]
Aura's proposed civic pathway uses the years beforehand to develop people and their personal intelligence relationships through real experiences. Tourism, music, sport, culture and environmental activity offer settings for learning judgement, communication, practical skills and care for a place.
Grow capability through experience
A person might begin by welcoming visitors at a small event. Their Aura would help explore the role beforehand, find approved information and reflect afterwards. Later opportunities might involve more responsibility or a different kind of work, with competence assessed for the actual role.
An authorised XR rehearsal might make a venue or scenario more understandable. Translation or contextual assistance may support a conversation. Those functions would be tested for their actual purpose, with the person learning when to rely on them, ask a human or question an interpretation.
The qualified self retains more than an attendance history. It develops a person's understanding of what they enjoy, how they respond to unfamiliar situations and what they want to contribute. Their Aura would connect reviewed experience with future learning and invitations, under chosen information arrangements.
Bring a demonstrated proposition to organisers
For the organising team, a future proposal would show working examples and evidence from earlier settings. It would identify the particular role, technology, support, privacy, cost and benefit. A personal Aura might assist an approved task, while official selection, training, accreditation and deployment retain their actual responsibilities.
Any integration or public partnership description would follow an agreement. An Aura account or contribution record does not confer an official Games role. Local civic development remains worthwhile for people who never apply, including those pursuing paid work, creative projects or community participation elsewhere.
Make 2032 an occasion to demonstrate a lived result
The ambition is for Australians to arrive at that horizon with years of practical experience in directing intelligence and engaging with connected places. A visitor sees useful capability in action; a volunteer understands their role; a host has a dependable service; the person retains a developing account of their own life.
The result is judged through demonstrated usefulness and the experience of communities hosting it. The same relationships then continue beyond an event, giving the wider AI and SI transition a personal, social and practical foundation.
Questions for tourism and community departments
Tourism brings personal intelligence into public responsibilities for culture, physical activity, environment, services and learning. The invitation concerns developing that capability through a defined contribution and public purpose.
These pages cover Queensland departmental areas, with names shortened for readability. The government directory identifies current responsibilities. The questions are this proposal's suggestions for discussion; participation and authority follow actual decisions. [R23]
Connect the experience with public capability
| Departmental area | A question this proposal would bring |
| Environment, tourism, science and innovation | How would personal intelligence connect enjoyment, environmental context and responsible participation? |
| Sport, racing and the Games | How would people develop skills and judgement through sport, XR and civic roles? |
| Education and arts | How would personal reflection, creativity and authorised XR experiences support learning? |
| Women, First Nations partnerships and multiculturalism | How would people shape cultural participation, information use and their share in benefit? |
| Trade, employment and training | Would people gain useful capability through varied work, learning and personal AI? |
| Customer services, open data and small business | Which agreed data and service connections would help people and small operators? |
| Local government, water and volunteers | How would connected places and supported contribution develop worthwhile community relationships? |
| Transport and Main Roads | Which permitted information or responsive services would improve a person’s actual journey? |
| Primary industries | How would food, farming or fishing experiences connect practical learning and environmental context? |
| Resources, manufacturing and regional development | What equipment, site or regional capability would support a defined development stage? |
Put the larger ambition into a concrete offer
An approach would name the proposed work, responsible delivery organisation and the particular involvement sought. That might concern an XR experience, an agreed information source, operator capability, a venue or evaluation. A department receives enough detail to assess the proposition within its remit.
The wider direction is a domestic programme developing the qualified self and agency in AI-enabled places. Local trials establish a starting experience; later stages build through evidence and willingness to participate.
Questions for service and coordinating departments
Developing personal intelligence also involves public services, planning and accountability. The relevant question is what a proposed connection helps a person understand or do, which organisation answers for it and what information is actually needed. Each department considers a defined role within its remit. [R23]
Fit a request to an actual responsibility
| Departmental area | A question this proposal would bring |
| Premier and Cabinet | Is there a clear opportunity with a suitable lead for defined cross-agency work? |
| Treasury including energy and climate | Does a staged programme justify resources and account for lasting capability and costs? |
| State development, infrastructure and planning | Which place or infrastructure trials fit the relevant planning and investment processes? |
| Queensland Health | Where would health-related information need professional input and a separate pathway? |
| Justice | How would people understand sources, consent, rights and the effects of digital rules? |
| Queensland Police | Which actual event or public safety connection requires a defined operational arrangement? |
| Queensland Fire Department | Which site and activity arrangements need fire and emergency planning? |
| Housing and Public Works | What venue, procurement or night-time experience falls within the relevant remit? |
| Families, seniors, disability services and child safety | How would personal intelligence support participation with appropriate age and support arrangements? |
| Youth justice and victim support | Any separate supported activity would need its own remit and protections. |
| Queensland Corrective Services | Any separate proposal would need its own purpose, participants and assessment. |
Connect local development with national ambition
Commonwealth readers across tourism, arts, sport, transport, environment, digital services, employment, skills and social policy would examine the part relevant to them. The proposition is positive capability alongside the rules shaping digital services: people developing their own account, directing AI and engaging thoughtfully with connected places.
A local activity identifies the site owner, operator, council and relevant authority. City data or infrastructure connections have a specific purpose and agreement. Public evaluation uses agreed measures and summaries, while personal records remain within the participant's chosen arrangements.
A clear programme makes those responsibilities reviewable without reducing the ambition to isolated administrative tools. The years before 2032 provide a setting to learn across agencies and communities, with the qualified self giving the work a continuing personal purpose.
Resources for sustained development and useful services
The years remaining before 2032 call for resources that develop people, software and dependable relationships between services. A practical offer separates research and development, the personal Aura arrangement, host services and actual tourism purchases. Costs, rights and support are understandable before anyone commits.
Fund a defined stage of capability
Early work would establish the minimum viable self, chosen observations, reflection and usable continuity. Later stages may add tested sensor connections, personal models, authorised XR experiences and agreed place information. Each stage identifies the work, people, equipment and evidence it is intended to produce.
| Cost area | What the development budget identifies |
| People and learning | Development, facilitation, participant support and evaluation at agreed rates. |
| Hosts and contributors | Operator input, cultural work, access support and volunteer expenses. |
| Devices and services | Chosen sensors, XR, computing, storage, connectivity and maintenance. |
| Readiness and continuity | Testing, advice, permissions, insurance, recovery and usable transfer. |
Let the person retain useful continuity
Some activities may suit existing phones or computers. Other functions require suitable wearables, storage, computing or support. Hardware capability, battery use, connectivity and maintenance affect the experience. An equipment proposal follows the chosen purpose and the actual available technology.
A personal arrangement identifies what the person owns or is licensed to use, what they take elsewhere and what depends on a service provider. A host retains usable descriptions and records if an arrangement ends. Model training and sensitive processing have their own source, cost and access decisions.
Develop a business model people value
Possible models include personal support subscriptions, operator services, development contracts or cooperative arrangements. Each needs clear scope and evidence of benefit. Setup and running charges, referral income, professional work and exit terms are visible. Tourism bookings and event payments retain the actual seller and terms.
A public body might commission a defined demonstration or evaluation where it fits the relevant process. Funding would purchase specified work and reporting, with ownership and reuse terms settled. Grant eligibility and procurement have their own decisions. No established price or revenue outcome is asserted here.
Cultural contributions, access support, volunteer coordination and operators' update time belong in the budget. C-Hours retain their non-monetary reciprocity purpose; financial support and paid work use ordinary financial records. The business case asks whether the capability people gain is worth the real cost of developing and delivering it. Continuing work follows that evidence and the people choosing to support the next stage.
Testing the qualified self and practical agency
The central question is whether people develop a more useful understanding of themselves and a more capable relationship with their Aura through experience. A satisfactory booking or enjoyable outing is part of that evidence. The larger test concerns meaning, judgement, correction, learning and practical agency across time.
Examine what the person recognises and uses
The first review checks whether the minimum viable self is recognisable and its sources understandable. Later encounters examine whether the Aura uses context faithfully, responds to corrections and keeps uncertainty visible. The person is able to explain why an interpretation fits or misses their experience.
| Question | Evidence to review |
| Is the self account faithful? | Recognition, source accuracy and handling of uncertainty. |
| Does correction help? | A change understood and used in a later encounter. |
| Does agency develop? | The person explains choices and directs appropriate assistance. |
| Does life gain something? | Learning, enjoyment and meaningful participation. |
| Is delivery worthwhile? | Costs, host effort, unwanted effects and continuity. |
Test connections through actual use
Sensor work checks the device, conditions, data quality and the meaning assigned to observations. XR work examines understanding, comfort and accurate presentation of authorised material. A place connection is tested against its actual source, access and update process. A function working in one setting is examined again when circumstances change.
Participants would also learn how to question the AI and direct actions within agreed boundaries. Relevant comparisons include the current personal record, the usual service process and outcomes at later visits. A small voluntary trial has limits, which remain visible when discussing wider benefit.
Review benefit burden and unwanted effects together
Visitors, hosts, volunteers and residents contribute to the account. The review includes time, costs, errors, misunderstandings, information concerns and reasons for stopping. A serious issue prompts an appropriate response and a pause in the affected function where needed, with responsibility for resuming identified.
Formal human research would assess ethics review and other applicable requirements before recruitment. A medical function would follow a separate clinical evidence and regulatory process. This tourism proposal concerns personal development and experience; sensor observations do not establish treatment benefit.
The next stage identifies demonstrated benefit, remaining questions and the work needed to resolve them. Public reporting gives participants and agencies a reasoned basis for continuation. By 2032, the intended result is evidence of qualified selves and personal intelligence relationships developing through life, including their limits and the resources needed to sustain them.
Joyful Responsible Abundance through personal intelligence
Joyful Responsible Abundance gives Aura's development a direction. Joyful concerns enjoyment, curiosity, creativity, relationships and rest. Responsible asks about consequences for people and the environment, including who carries the costs. Abundance concerns wider access to useful knowledge, resources, opportunity and practical freedom. [P6]
Let greater capability enrich a whole life
The qualified self is central because a satisfying life is understood through the person living it. A visitor may discover music they want to make, a skill they want to learn or a way of spending time that gives them more room to engage. Their Aura would connect those discoveries with earlier context and chosen next steps.
Body observations, memories, reflection and the environment each contribute a different kind of understanding. XR offers ways to explore and share selected experiences. Increasingly capable AI offers new possibilities for explanation, creation and appropriate assistance. The person develops judgement through working with that capability and questioning it.
Make the national ambition personal and social
My proposal is that Australia uses the years before 2032 to demonstrate a positive relationship with this technological transition. Tourism provides an enjoyable domestic setting in which people, hosts and communities learn together. Music, sport, culture and environmental activity give the work depth beyond a technology demonstration.
Preparing for SI means developing useful personal context and ways to direct intelligence now, while assessing new capability as it emerges. The programme does not depend on predicting an arrival date. It develops a continuing relationship that is able to be examined and revised as the world changes. [P1, R30]
Keep room for learning contribution and rest
Intermittent Retirement is Aura's wider proposal for funded periods of rest, care, learning and travel at different stages of life. Its financial and time arrangements would be established for an actual opportunity. Tourism offers one possible setting for that exploration. A holiday is also worthwhile in itself. [P6]
The developing Aura has room for abilities and ambitions as well as ordinary pleasure. A person may choose civic contribution, creative work, new friendships or a quiet afternoon. Growing capability is valuable through what it adds to those choices and the consequences it helps people understand.
A Protopian gambit means pursuing improvements that are tested and revised through experience. Here that begins with a person recognising themselves in their Aura and finding something worthwhile to do together. The larger future develops through those encounters, with Joyful Responsible Abundance judged through life as it is actually lived.
A practical invitation to develop the first experience
The proposal is to develop Aura as an Australian way of growing the qualified self alongside increasingly capable intelligence and connected environments. Domestic tourism offers a practical beginning on Straddie, with a path through Redlands, Brisbane, Queensland and Australia. The years to 2032 give that relationship time to mature through real experience.
For visitors and residents
A first encounter would show the purpose, working tools and proposed next development. The person chooses an experience worth exploring and the context they want to bring. Onboarding records a minimum viable self, followed by an agreed activity, selected observations and a review of their meaning.
The person examines what their Aura has understood and changes what it has missed. Later encounters test whether those corrections help. Equipment and information use follow the actual arrangement, with a usable copy and a clear way to pause or leave. The experience is an invitation to learn with intelligence through living.
For operators volunteers and community hosts
A host might bring a lesson, performance, cultural experience, recreational activity or community role to develop. The proposal identifies the experience, authorised material, relevant observations and the practical work required. Cultural hosts and land managers determine the participation and permissions relevant to their setting.
Operators and volunteers would learn through the work as well. An approved XR rehearsal, a clearer explanation or thoughtful guest feedback might improve an actual service. Agreements identify responsibilities, information handling, costs, support and what happens when arrangements end. Published roles follow what people have actually agreed to do.
For tourism bodies and public agencies
The invitation is to consider a staged programme of personal and civic capability, with a concrete first experience to examine. A request would name the work, delivery organisation, resources, evidence and particular role sought. Public systems and Games connections follow the relevant process and actual agreements.
Australia has already shown a willingness to shape digital life through social media legislation. This proposal asks it to pursue an equally purposeful positive direction through AI, SI and XR. Aura is my proposed route: people developing the context and judgement to work with intelligence, while communities shape how their places participate.
The immediate result to build is a person who recognises their starting self, enjoys a meaningful encounter and understands more about what it taught them. Repeated through the years before 2032, that relationship has room to develop into adaptive whole of life support, with useful capability continuing long after a single visit or event.
