Orbit lab

Every body owns a bubble of space where its gravity is in charge, and inside it the body's own spin, shape and tilt carve out the special orbits. The scene is oriented to the real solar system, and every body starts the same way round: its spin axis standing up the screen like a globe on its stand, and today's sunward line running out to the left. How far that line sits off horizontal is the body's season, the Sun's angle above its equator, which is why Uranus and Pluto start so far from level. Against that one fixed reference an axial tilt, a retrograde orbit or anything riding off the plane shows up straight away. The orbit plane rides at the body's true tilt, and the poles, and magnetic axis where one is measured, are drawn and named. Simple mode keeps orbits circular; advanced mode hands you true orbital mechanics.
