01 · The main sequence

Answer, calculate, place, export.

Step 1 gathers story choices. Step 2 builds the characters. Step 3 is the Book Plan: choose a size, decide whether the book wants acts or parts, calculate chapters and scenes, place a story pattern, answer each open question and export the result. Connected Stories, the Idea Workshop and Story Patterns are optional workspaces, not steps you have to pass through.

Step 1 · Things you love in stories

Your story tastes enter the possibility field.

Start here with anything from your notes that excites you. Choose none, one or as many as you like. Each chosen idea can connect to any number of later steps, so it can shape Tiggy, relationships, situations, outside problems, story shape, intimacy, the ending and the chapter plan at the same time. These connections bring your own material forward without selecting anything for you. “Use once” gives an idea one deliberate home. “Bring it back” repeats it wherever it fits. “Shape the whole story” carries it through every suitable chapter. The 2019 worksheets remain dated possibilities. Keep, ignore or privately rewrite them. Unclear handwriting waits in a review tray instead of being guessed.

Some earlier screens called this “Author DNA”. That simply meant Luke's recurring story tastes and preferences. It did not mean genetics or artificial intelligence training data.

Step 1 reference · Tiggy and Australian Sire

One man, several sides.

Tiggy Bestmann and Australian Sire always point to the same main character record. Tiggy begins as an aloof, playful systems dreamer who worries that he is bluffing. Australian Sire is the name he earns by stacking real wins, keeping promises and earning adult trust. As Sire, he travels as a consensually chosen breeding male among adults who know he will not stay and choose the possibility of conception anyway. The app can shift which side of him leads a scene without splitting him into two people.

Step 2 · Character Builder

Build a person, not a function.

Each character can hold public identity, their role in this story, motive and attention, everyday details, recognisable writing details, background, relationship threads, ceremony, system tensions and facts that need to stay consistent across the universe. The Aura LifeLogging question groups remain separate, so you can enter a person through whichever grouping is useful. Private notes remain separate from portraits chosen for sharing. There is no app-set character limit, although the browser still has ordinary local-storage limits.

Step 3 · Book plan

Large totals become acts, chapters and scenes.

The total word bands below come from your supplied research. Act percentages, chapter counts, scenes per chapter and words per scene remain editable calculation patterns. Acts or parts are optional large sections above chapters. The story-shape patterns still place turning points by book percentage, so the two layers can work together without becoming the same thing.

The live calculation is: total scenes equals chapters multiplied by scenes per chapter; words per chapter equals total words divided by chapters; words per scene equals total words divided by total scenes; estimated pages equals total words divided by your chosen words-per-page figure. Each act or part receives an approximate share of words, chapters and scenes from its relative size. The 55,000-word and 200-page source example works out to about 275 words per page.

Each pattern lens lists what you have already chosen, shows typical turning-point positions and asks one question that remains open. A pattern enters the Book Plan only when you choose it.

Many stories can share one living world.

Map novels, novellas, short stories, films, albums and interactive stories together. Gather a combination in Story Choices and save it when a pattern becomes interesting. Update it, remove it or make another version whenever the fiction wants another route. The planner notices recurring characters, problems and favourite story ingredients without declaring them instructions. One story can follow another, overlap its dates, meet it for a single encounter, echo an earlier choice, hand off a consequence or return to an older thread. Travel is the large engine. Crystal City of Quandamooka Country is one recurring subterranean anchor and long horizon, not the centre of every story. A plural network of myth-inspired, undersea, subterranean and invented civilisations can emerge across different stories without one book owning the complete truth. Choose which stories belong in the map for sharing.

Optional · Idea Workshop

Thinking shapes stay separate from story ingredients.

The Idea Workshop turns the new writing-map photographs into original optional tools. Flip assumptions, disguise and reveal clues, track who knows what and when, map a conversation with several characters, combine pressures, repair details that no longer fit, explore motives and appearance, test endings or build a hidden-world map. Every tool creates a separate local card. Leave it as a loose note, explore versions, gather related ideas or mark it chosen for now. Link any card to a story and any number of characters. Make another version or remove it whenever another route feels more alive.

Planning reference · Private intimacy markers

The marker changes the story. It does not contain the scene.

Every private intimacy marker records confirmed adult participants, why the scene matters, informed and revocable consent conditions, power differences, what each person knows, what is true between them before and after, and what changes in the story. It can hold non-explicit words before and after the private scene. There is deliberately no field for explicit prose.

Proposed idea

A design, policy or research direction from the source pack, not an implemented or proven system.

Fiction inspired by a source

A new story idea drawn from supplied themes without claiming the source itself proposed this event.

Invented for the story

A deliberate leap for wonder, mystery or cosmic scale. The story is free to transform it.

Needs human review

A real place, culture, health context or power relationship that needs a real person and appropriate authority to check it before public use.

Fantasy-facing material uses Aura Operating Zeitgeist, shortened to Aura O.Z. Historical source titles keep their original names so you can see where an idea came from. Crystal City also keeps two clear layers: a real proposal with authority and feasibility open, and a fictional subterranean city used for story.

Useful terms in ordinary language.

Genre: The broad kind of story, such as romance, fantasy or science fiction.
Romantasy: A story where romance and fantasy are both central.
Protopian: Better than now but still imperfect. Each improvement reveals the next honest problem.
Trope: A familiar kind of story development readers may recognise, such as friends becoming lovers. Research may call these tropes. This app presents them as optional story situations.
Premise: The central “what if?” or main story idea.
Protagonist: The main character.
Antagonist: A person, force or system pushing against the main character.
Story arc: How a character, relationship or problem changes from beginning to end. This app calls the generated version a chapter plan.
Story beat: One meaningful event or turn.
Word target: A rough total size for the draft. It is a planning number you can change.
Act or part: A large optional section of a book that contains several chapters. It sits above chapters and below the whole book.
Chapter: A named section of the book. A chapter can contain one scene or several scenes.
Scene: One continuous piece of action, conversation or experience in a particular time and place.
Estimated page: A word-count conversion for planning. Actual print and ebook pages change with design, trim size, type and screen.
Point of view: Whose experience the reader follows.
Continuity: Keeping facts, timing and consequences consistent.
Motif: An image, phrase or idea that returns with meaning.
Happily ever after: A romance ending with lasting relationship commitment. Industry notes often shorten this to HEA.
Happy for now: A romance ending that is secure now while the future remains open. Industry notes often shorten this to HFN.
Great filter: A hurdle that may stop a civilisation surviving or advancing.
Singularity: A threshold where technological or intelligence change becomes very hard to predict.
Version for sharing: A copy containing only material marked for sharing. It leaves out private notes and intimacy planning.
Full working version: The local copy containing everything you saved in the planner.

Full working version and version for sharing.

Your full working version can hold author notes, private intimacy planning, participant details, boundaries, private character material and ideas that are still being explored. A version for sharing includes only material you deliberately mark for sharing and leaves those working details out. This is an export choice, not a rule about which fiction you can create.

This version makes no network requests and has no account, cloud database, analytics or remote artificial intelligence call. Projects remain in this browser and are not added to a future public repository unless you export and upload them yourself. Browser storage and downloaded backups are not encrypted, so keep confidential real-world health, cultural or relationship information out of the planner and store backups carefully.

The project uses plain static files and links that work on GitHub Pages. Before publication, add your licence, review every distilled source ingredient, inspect the version for sharing, and confirm the published site works anonymously on a phone. A successful local preview does not prove that a future public website is live.
