Run a community noticeboard
This is the community noticeboard I'm working to start on Minjerribah, out in the open, with AI as my only co-worker so far. It isn't running yet; it needs people. Here's what I'm building, and how you'd start your own, wherever you are.
What I'm building here
A public place for notices, owned by the people who use it
A noticeboard is a simple, honest thing: a place to pin what's on, what's needed, what's lost and found, who's looking for a hand. I'm building the island's version as a plain public space the community owns, not a feed that sells your attention back to you. No algorithm deciding what you see, no quiet harvesting in the background; just local notices, kept by locals. Because I'm doing it on my own with AI, it stays a description ahead of a crowd until people start posting to it. It only becomes real when the island puts its own news on the board.
If you're on Straddie, that's the open invitation: come and help ground it, and tell me what you'd actually want to pin up. If you're anywhere else, read on.
Build your own, wherever you are
Same idea, shaped to your place
The reason it lives here, on Aura of Intelligence, is so it's more than my island's board. Take it as a worked example and build your own: same idea, shaped to your town, your street, your community and the way it already talks to itself. Not a copy of mine, yours, custom to your place and your lived experience.
That's the whole point of building your own tools and systems instead of renting someone else's. You keep what you make, the notices belong to your community, and it grows the way your neighbourhood does. The short video walks through how I'm approaching it, so you can borrow what fits and leave the rest.
