Co-design the purpose and response options with participating artists before selecting a voting mechanism.

Live Aid 2025 Artistic World Vote
Explore fair audience participation that celebrates art without turning popularity into the only measure of value.
Follow the connections. Choose your direction.
The need worth working on.
A global artistic vote sounds simple until languages, audience size, access, campaigning and different art forms are considered. The historical Live Aid 2025 title should remain identifiable as an archive concept. A current experiment can ask a smaller question: how can audiences meaningfully respond to creative work?
What the enterprise could offer.
Design a participation tool for a willing local showcase, comparing voting with discussion, peer appreciation and audience reflection. Artists should understand how their work is presented and how responses will be used. The product may become an accessible feedback service rather than a winner-takes-all global competition.
People to build with
- Artists and cultural producers
- Event organisers
- Audiences with varied access and language needs
A fair response process for one showcase
Test the interface with fictional entries, including low bandwidth and assistive technology.
Run a small showcase with transparent rules, clear consent and a way to report manipulation or mistakes.
Compare participation patterns and artist feedback to see whose work or audience the format disadvantaged.
The first result
A tested audience-response prototype, fairness review and revised event rules.
What needs to be demonstrated.
Practical pilot
The starting evidence
The original title is an unimplemented historical proposal. No world vote, artist participation or official event affiliation is established.
The open question
Whether voting improves the experience or whether a different form of response better serves artists and audiences.
The next measurement
Participation diversity, comprehension of the rules, suspicious response patterns and artist-rated usefulness.
Build the means to deliver.
Useful capabilities and resources
- Artists involved in rule design
- Accessible web development
- Moderation and event support
A possible business model
Offer the tool and moderation service to event hosts. The price should cover accessibility, support and fair handling of disputes.
A leadership decision to practise
Decide what success means before counting votes, including whether competitive ranking belongs in the programme at all.
People, consequences and decisions.
- Large followings can dominate merit or discovery.
- Bots or coordinated voting can distort results.
- Rankings may discourage experimental or minority-language work.
If equality were being designed now...
- Would the feedback method give less-connected women artists useful responses without making popularity the only measure of value?
- Can artists choose how their work is presented and challenge unfair voting or moderation decisions?
Begin with women's own experiences across bodies, ages, cultures and places. Invite disagreement and choose a practical change together.

From the original suggestion to a working brief.

Original title: Live Aid 2025 Artistic World Vote. The pilot, business model and learning connections on this page are proposed developments of that original idea.
