Find the intention
Describe who the product is for and the experience it should support. A sketch, conversation or existing object can be enough to begin.
What comes out: A brief that another person can understand.
An idea does not move in a straight line. A sample changes the brief. A customer changes the offer. A return improves the next design.
A maker can start with spare capacity. A community can start with a shared need. Someone else can start with a material looking for a new use.
The steps below are a useful route through the work. They are not ranks, gates controlled by a central authority, or a compulsory sequence.
Record the contribution, the people involved, its terms and its limits. A responsibility lasts for the agreed activity. It does not become permanent standing over others.

Prepare a sample. Try it in the real setting. Keep observations about fit, flavour, comfort, use and care attached to the version tested.
What comes out: A sample record and a clear next revision.
Bring together materials, artwork, makers and quotations. Compare the same specification, quantities and delivery terms.
What comes out: An agreed specification, contributions and dated costs.
Explain exactly what someone receives, the price, variants, timing and handover. Keep a single item, a refill and a collection as distinct offers.
What comes out: An understandable offer and a fulfilment plan.
Use the product, tell its story and invite feedback. People choose their participation, and creators agree how their work is used.
What comes out: Release material, customer questions and useful feedback.
Record repairs, returns, refills and recovery with a real receiving route. Bring costs, losses and experience into the next design.
What comes out: A completed movement and learning for the next cycle.

A product connects with its material, pattern, maker, offer and feedback. A project can connect to several products. There is no required parent project.
A revised fabric should reach the maker’s brief, costs and product description. The working edition lets you keep that information together and export a portable pack.
Live synchronisation between businesses, stock systems and AI services is part of the wider design.
