Minjerribah My Heart
analysed
A Quandamooka elder walks a barefoot child from Goompi's shoreline up the dune path to the cliffs of Point Lookout, naming each place aloud as they go. When they reach the top the child presses a palm flat to the warm rock, and for a beat we hear a low heartbeat under the wind. The film is that one morning: teaching a place-name into a small body so it will never be sold.
Arc: Opens crouched at ground level with sand and old stories, and ends standing to sing a vow of return, the island carried inside the breath rather than under the feet.

Phrases for posters and merch
Verbatim lines that stand alone, for lyric posters, metal prints and t-shirts.
Minjerribah, you are my heart
You hold my soul, in your arms I am whole
A bond that can't be bought or sold
I hear your heartbeat, a sacred sound
We've been together from the very start
Minjerribah, you'll never die
The beauty of you, the strength of we
In every breath, you will appear
Line by line
“The sand beneath my feet tells stories old and true”
Extreme close on a bare heel pressing into wet sand, the grains holding the shape for a second then filling with seawater. Shoot from ground level so the beach is the whole world.
“Of people who walked this land long before I knew”
Match cut: the fresh footprint dissolves into a line of older prints already half erased by the tide, receding up the beach. No people in frame, only the trail they left.
“In your arms, I am whole”
Shoot against the words. Not an embrace but a small figure alone in a wide bay, the two arms of the headland curving around them like a held cove. The land does the holding.
“From Goompi's shores to Mooloomba's skies”
A slow pan that starts low on the shoreline and tilts up into open sky, one continuous move that carries both place-names across a single frame.
“I see the island's love through ancient eyes”
Tight on a weathered elder's eyes, the sea reflected in them. Hold long enough that a wave completes its break in the reflection.
“With every step I take on your sacred ground”
Locked-off overhead of bare feet walking a sandy track, each footfall landing dead centre of frame, deliberate, almost ceremonial in rhythm.
“I hear your heartbeat, a sacred sound”
A palm pressed flat to warm sand or rock, camera holding on the hand while the sound design drops to a slow low pulse under the wind. The listening gesture is the shot.
“The Quandamooka people, keepers of the land”
A handheld portrait of a local face turned three-quarter to the light, no styling, no set. A real keeper of this place, framed with the same reverence as the landscape.
“Their wisdom flows like the shifting sand”
Wind moving the crest of a dune, a thin veil of sand streaming sideways off the ridge in gold afternoon light. Grain becomes current.
“In every breeze, I hear their call”
Grass and pandanus leaning all one way in a gust, then the gust passes and they settle. Cut the sound so the wind carries a faint voice just under hearing.
“Through the waves and the stars up high”
A single wide held at dusk with breaking surf in the lower third and the first stars in the upper third, one horizon line binding sea to sky.
“Minjerribah, you'll never die”
A campfire circle on the sand at night, sparks lifting toward those same stars. The vow spoken into a fire that keeps being fed.
“From the cliffs of Point Lookout, I see”
A push-in to a lone figure standing right at the headland edge, back to camera, the whole coastline and open ocean opening out ahead of them.
“The beauty of you, the strength of we”
Rack focus from the sheer rock face of the cliff (strength) to two silhouettes standing close on top of it (we). One pull ties the land's body to the people's.
“A bond that can't be bought or sold”
A hand-painted timber sign staked in the dune grass carrying the island's name, weathered and homemade. A gentle magical-realist beat: the shadow it casts is longer than the light should allow.
“In every breath, you will appear”
Final image. Close on someone inhaling at the shoreline at first light, eyes closing. On the exhale we cut wide to the whole island as if breathed back into being.
