Run a shared table

This is the shared table I'm working to start on Minjerribah, out in the open, with AI as my only co-worker so far. It isn't running yet; it needs people. Here's what I'm building, and how you'd start your own, wherever you are.

What I'm building here

Rescuing surplus food, and the volunteers who move it

A shared table rescues good food that would otherwise go to waste and gets it to people who can use it. The quiet work underneath is coordination: who has surplus, who can collect it, who can drop it off, and when. This is the mobilisation of care, community and voluntary, a small system of neighbours looking after neighbours rather than anything bought or sold. I'm putting the whole plan together as a lab you can look right inside: the roster, the pickups, the way it all stays in step. Because I'm doing it on my own with AI, it stays a description ahead of a running table until the island gets involved. It only becomes real when volunteers show up to collect, carry and share, week after week.

If you're on Straddie, that's the open invitation: come and help ground it, whether you have surplus to give or an hour to drive. If you're anywhere else, read on.

Build your own, wherever you are

Same idea, shaped to your place

The reason it lives here, on Aura of Intelligence, is so it's more than my island's table. Take it as a worked example and build your own: same idea, shaped to your town, your growers and shops, the neighbours already quietly looking out for each other. Not a copy of mine, yours, custom to your place and your lived experience.

That's the whole point of building your own tools and systems instead of renting someone else's. You keep what you make, and it grows the way your community does. The short video walks through how I'm approaching it, so you can borrow what fits and leave the rest.
