Every border can become a bridge

A year in England, three trips to Thailand, time in New Zealand, and longer stays in India with visits to Nepal. I’ve travelled for work, love and curiosity. There are still plenty of places I want to go.

My first trip to Thailand was with my girlfriend over New Year 2009/10. I went back twice on my own. I loved the warmth and the connections I made there. At the Golden Mount I got a particularly favourable fortune ticket. I was quite happy with that result.

In 2006 I spent a couple of weeks in Rotorua, staying at a hostel run by a friend’s parents. They encouraged me to take part in the Tamaki Māori ceremony as the representative of our visiting group. It was intimidating and memorable. England gave me a year of work and travel, including setting up Glastonbury in 2004. India later became somewhere I returned to for much longer stays.
