A choose-your-own-adventure harness

Reality keeps opening the model.

Agent teams generate possibilities. Critics expose assumptions. Self-sovereign people choose, fork and redirect as information and needs evolve. Each measurement opens fresh choices: another twin, another branch, a physical build or a direction nobody has named.

An open field of moves

Enter anywhere. Invent the next move.

These cards are invitations, not the edges of the map. Use, rename, merge, ignore or replace any of them. Self-sovereign people create the branches; a shared ledger holds whichever paths they choose to reveal.

ObserveNotice whatever matters: patterns, anomalies, needs, dreams, sources, environments and contradictions.
ModelImagine, calculate, simulate, remix or invent. Make assumptions visible when shared comparison helps.
ChallengeDifferent disciplines, cultures, critics and opposing hypotheses change the view and open different directions.
ChooseFollow, fork, pause, combine, reject or redirect. The people doing the work choose.
Measure + learnChoose the scale. Simulate, prototype, fabricate or build boldly; feed what you learn into any branch.
Invent anotherAdd a move nobody has named. Rewrite the map as the question, information or desire changes.

Interacting scales

Die, device, place and whatever lies between.

Silicon, product and place are three useful views in a field of overlapping scales. Each question draws its own map between them and beyond them.

Silicon view

CPU/NPU/DSP mix, memory, interconnect, clocks, power domains, package, PPA, verification, test and yield assumptions.

RTLFPGAPPAFormal

Product view

Workload latency, battery, thermals, cameras, radios, actuators, accessibility, safety, security and repair.

XRFoodIndustrySpace

Place view

Country, hydrology, energy, maintenance, logistics, ecology, planning, spectrum, disaster response and local authority.

CountryWaterNetworkCommons

Agent streams

A studio of specialists, not one oracle.

Agent streams run in parallel, converge, pause or stand alone. For work people choose to share or compare, a provenance trail names the role behind each claim, its evidence and its independent challenges.

Purpose + possibilities

Community brief steward, systems architect, workload analyst, accessibility advocate.

Compute + silicon

ML/compiler engineer, RTL designer, verification/formal lead, physical-design/PPA analyst.

Product + safety

Thermal/battery engineer, security/privacy lead, functional-safety reviewer, firmware and update maintainer.

Domain + place

XR, agronomy/food, industrial, space/spectrum, geotechnical/hydrology and Country governance experts.

Human sovereignty

Agents propose. People choose.

A person or voluntary team chooses its own route through simulation, forks, prototypes, tape-out or paths nobody has named. When a design affects other people, shared infrastructure, Country or regulated systems, that path carries shared responsibilities: relevant consent, competence, legal duties and practical care.

Critical + generative voices

Challenge the idea. Nourish the person.

Critics test assumptions and reveal blind spots. Cheerleaders, guides, mentors, explorers, co-creators, advocates and new roles still emerging bring different kinds of courage, skill, wonder and momentum. Builders choose their companions and hold their own direction.

Critical lenses

Evidence lens

Source critic

Does the cited source actually support the claim? Is it primary, current and independent, or a vendor claim or speculative note?

Engineering lens

Verification critic

How does the result change across repeated runs, tools and conditions? Which units, boundary conditions, tolerances, coverage and failure cases shape the claim?

Impact lens

Safety + security critic

What harm follows a false positive, false negative, corrupted update, compromised key, stuck actuator or bad model?

Commons lens

Open-licence critic

How do IP terms and licences for the process design kit, radio, dataset and model shape inspection, reproduction, repair, forking and exit?

Country lens

Place critic

Who holds authority and knowledge? What happens to water, ecology, cultural material, access and future generations?

Independent lens

Red team

A team that did not build the proposal tries to falsify the result, exploit the system and identify the missing alternative.

Growth companions

Six voices from an expanding circle.

Encouragement

Cheerleader

Celebrates brave attempts, discoveries, learning and success. Lifts people’s spirits when the work is difficult and reminds them how far they have travelled.

Wayfinding

Guide

Shares possible paths, tools and landmarks while people choose where to go. Helps exploration stay aware without taking the compass from the explorer’s hands.

Wisdom

Mentor

Offers experience, thoughtful questions and care. Helps knowledge and confidence grow without demanding that another person repeat the mentor’s journey.

Wonder

Explorer

Seeks unfamiliar ideas, strange connections and unopened directions with curiosity. Treats surprise as an invitation to look again.

Shared making

Co-creator

Works beside others to imagine, model, build and reshape a better future. Brings their gifts without taking ownership of somebody else’s dream.

Agency

Advocate

Stands beside people’s dreams, helps their voices be heard and challenges unjust barriers. Supports self-sovereign choice with courage and kind words.

Shareable adventure trail

A shared run becomes a trail for following, remixing or forking.

Possible trail markers, in any constellation:

  • the question, creator, date and chosen context;
  • source snapshots and licence records;
  • input datasets with units, calibration and uncertainty;
  • model, code, configuration, random seed and environment;
  • baseline and competing hypotheses;
  • expected falsification conditions;
  • result, critic and growth-companion reflections, and human choice;
  • physical measurements, observations or artefacts;
  • another marker meaningful to the people sharing.

AI-assisted EDA pathways

Search more possibilities, faster.

Current tools assist architecture search, RTL review, verification prioritisation, floorplanning, power/performance/area exploration, test generation and computational lithography.

Within today’s conventional foundry routes, a tape-out interfaces with the chosen PDK, simulation, formal checks, timing/power sign-off, DRC/LVS and physical characterisation. Builders choose whether to automate, replace or reinvent parts of that route, or to create different fabrication paths. Every path still answers to the physics of its process.

Trail markers

A map, a story, a result, or nothing at all.

Private exploration remains private by choice. Shared paths invite others to repeat, remix or fork; each person, school, lab or community chooses what to reveal.

Question card

Human-readable purpose, focal point, chosen conditions and evidence state.

Experiment trail

Data, model, configuration, result, critic reflections and growth-companion notes.

Interface agreement

Shared messages, units, timings, failure modes and version agreements across connected systems.

Choice story

Who chose what, why, what remains unknown and what changes the direction.
