The far horizon · prove it, don't claim it
Don't take anyone's word for it.
This whole site runs on one idea: don't take anyone's word for it, check it yourself. The prove-it sandbox (its full name is the Sensorium) is where that would actually happen. Instead of arguing about whether an idea is true, you would build it into a small working model, feed it the real numbers, and let anyone run the same test and get the same answer.
How it would work
Stop arguing. Cook the dish.
Say someone has a claim, big or small. They would turn it into a model you can actually run. It would be fed the island's real, shared numbers. Then a believer and a sceptic could both press the go button and get the same result. If it holds up, the idea earns a stronger label. If it flops, well, that is worth knowing too. Think of a public test kitchen: you stop describing the dish and just cook it, and everyone at the table tastes the same thing. This is the engine behind the five labels on how to read this site.
Why it matters here
Swap "because I said so" for "here, try it".
It replaces "because I said so", and "because an expert said so", with "here, run it yourself". That is a big deal for a small place. It lets the island weigh a heavy claim fairly, with no shouting match and no waiting on a stranger far away to decide for us. It is a fair go for the far-out ideas, too. Instead of being swallowed whole or laughed out of the room, they get put to the same test as everything else.
What it would run on
The island's own tools and its own numbers.
Two pieces, and both are real today. The first is the island's own open tools, the everyday ones anyone can pick up and use. The second is its shared numbers, the data the community has agreed on together. That data stays the community's own. And anything that touches Country goes only where the Quandamooka people, through QYAC, agree.
Where this sits
Nothing here is built yet.
Nothing here is built yet. This is the honesty machine the rest of the site keeps promising: the thing that would let a claim earn its place instead of just being claimed.
