Microbiome claims can blend interesting research with a promise that one test, product or diet will explain a person's health. A useful enterprise should help people ask better questions and recognise uncertainty. The word 'mastery' in the historical title is an ambition, not a service result.
What the enterprise could offer.
Develop an evidence translation and research-design studio with microbiome specialists and qualified health professionals. Start with a narrow public-education question and a comparison of claims with underlying studies. Do not collect biological samples or offer personalised treatment in the first pilot.
