Nothing was deleted. The thread keeps its knots.
A commons that edits its own past cannot ask you to trust it with the future. So here is the past, unedited, with what was learned tied on beside it.
What was published, and what it was
The name and the idea date from 2018. Through 2023 and 2024, working with a large language model, the founder drafted an ambitious architecture: a token, a DAO, and a synchronised three-day world festival planned for July 2025, the fortieth anniversary of Live Aid, themed Past, Present and Future, carrying a world vote on core values for the alignment of artificial general intelligence.
A token sale was announced for the first quarter of 2025. It did not launch. July 2025 passed without the festival. The site advertising both stayed up long after the dates went by, which is the specific failure this page exists to correct.
Where the record actually lives
The original gajra.earth was built by hand in WordPress, years before any of these repositories existed, and no copy of it is held here. As this is written it is still live at that address: go and look at it while you can. It stops being there the day the domain is pointed at whichever replacement wins, and after that the record is the Internet Archive captures, which is the honest place to send anyone who wants what was claimed at the time rather than a later account of it.
The YouTube channel from that period is also still up, uploads and all, and it has not been tidied either.
The single-page site kept at the foot of this page is a different thing: later, much smaller, and it lived in a repository rather than at that address. It is preserved unedited, licence file included, but calling it the old site would be a tidier story than the true one.
The interview
Lessons written by somebody who was not there are cheap, and the person is available to ask. So: questions instead, aimed at the objects, the rooms and the sentences said out loud, and they stay on the page whether or not the answers flatter anybody.
The answers are the founder's own words, unedited, added as he gets to them. An unanswered question stays visible as unanswered.
Anyone can add a question by pull request. Questions are not removed for being awkward. If one is unfair, the answer is the place to say so.
You announced a token sale for the first quarter of 2025. Did any money change hands, and if so, whose and where is it now?
Answer: No money changed hands. No smart contract was ever minted. What existed was a draft whitepaper written with GPT-4 over two days in April 2023: the token prices in it read $0.xx and the sale dates read [start date], because none were ever set. There was nothing to buy and nobody bought it.
You advertised a synchronised world festival across fifty thousand towns for July 2025. At the point you published that, what did you actually have: venues, partners, staff, money?
Answer: A draft. A downloaded database of cities with populations over ten thousand, some pseudo-code for contacting them, and about twenty thousand words of prompting. No venues, no partners, no staff, no money. The plan named fifteen roles it needed filled and none of them were.
The dates went past and the announcements stayed up. How long was it before you looked at the site and thought, that is not true any more?
Answer: not yet given.
Who was going to hold the treasury, and who could have stopped you spending it?
Answer: Nobody, because there was no treasury. The allocation table in the whitepaper is a draft of an intention, not a record of anything held.
Did anybody lose money, time or reputation on the strength of what was published?
Answer: Nobody else lost money, because nobody else put any in. I lost years of hosting fees and domain registration on an idea I carried and never fully went after. I printed a t-shirt and gave it to my gran. I made a mug in India on a heat transfer machine I had bought. I designed and printed two standees while I was in India, one for GAJRA Earth and one for Aura of Intelligence, to promote them over there. Neither was ever displayed in public, except at one speech at an Indian college where I had been invited to talk, and I made a mess of that.
What did you actually build in that period, if anything?
Answer: The thinking, mostly, and a lot of it: the whitepaper, the outreach design, the city data, the architecture for the Aura interface. Written down and kept, which is why it is possible to answer these questions honestly rather than from memory.
You say what stopped you was internal echoes of other people's opinions of you. Whose voices were they, and did any of them ever actually say it out loud?
Answer: not yet given.
Which file or folder from that period have you not opened since, and what do you expect is in it?
Answer: not yet given.
So why did none of it happen?
Answer: I got anxious. I let internal echoes of other people's opinions of me stop me from triggering the point of no return and fully going for my dreams.
Tell us about the speech at the college in India.
Answer: not yet given.
When somebody at the pub or on the ferry asked what you were working on, what did you say, and what did you leave out?
Answer: not yet given.
What did you do in that period that took the most nerve, and what did you do that you would talk anybody else out of? They may be the same thing.
Answer: not yet given.
Why should anyone believe this attempt is not the same pattern with better manners, and what would tell you from the outside that it is failing the same way?
Answer: not yet given.
July 2025 was a deadline you set yourself, and nobody else was holding you to it. Where were you the week it went past, and what did you do for the months after?
Answer: not yet given.
A t-shirt went to your gran, a mug came off a heat press you had bought, and two standees came back from India having been shown once. Where is any of it now?
Answer: not yet given.
In kintsugi, the repaired crack is shown in gold rather than hidden, and the object is considered more itself for having been broken and mended. This page is the gold.
