Ten questions nobody here can answer yet. Each sits between the trinity and its practice, and a part-answer counts. Cite the number in your pull request.
The open questions
How do you make care visible without turning it into a price?
Two findings people keep citing: paying blood donors reduced donation, and a fine for late nursery pickup increased lateness, apparently by turning an obligation into a purchase. People help for heart, or because someone they love or trust or owe asked them. How far does that pattern reach, and can care be made visible and rewardable without landing in it?
What would count: a recognition design that survives contact with a real community without crowding out the reason people helped. Group-scale recognition is one live candidate: the club's hours, not the person's.
What could a system optimise toward and still call it joy?
A proxy for joy becomes a target once anything optimises against it, and the industry's chosen proxy, engagement, turned out to measure compulsion very precisely. What signal would still deserve the word joy after being optimised? A harder one sits underneath: a thief may be enjoying the theft, so what tells served delight from taken delight?
What would count: a joy signal a person, asked directly and away from the product, still endorses a year later.
Whose abundance, when one side's plenty is the other's loss?
A mine, a dam, a data centre: abundant from one side of the fence, a taking from the other. What does the trinity have to say at that seam, and what stops it becoming a nicer word for whoever won?
What would count: a documented seam where two incompatible local definitions of abundance met, negotiated, and both survived.
Who answers for a system running faster than anyone can watch it?
A human answers for it needs an architecture once the loop outruns the hand on it. Delegation chains blur, and by the fifth hop it can be hard to find anyone who thinks they are holding anything. What shape of accountability stays attached at that speed?
What would count: a chain that ends in a name, demonstrated on a system running faster than its operators, without the name becoming a scapegoat ritual.
How does a definition resist capture, founder included?
Useful definitions attract owners: companies for whom alignment would conveniently mean brand safety, states for whom it would mean obedience, founders for whom it would mean themselves. Authority here is meant to be earned rather than claimed, with nobody exempt by category, including the person who started this. What actually holds that in place when it costs something?
What would count: governance where the founder losing an argument is boring, recorded, and changes the document.
What is owed to whoever is not at the table yet?
Future people, other minds, whatever the ocean or the dark turns out to hold. The signatories file keeps one seat open on purpose, which is easy to write and hard to honour. What would honouring it look like in a decision that has already been made?
What would count: a decision made here that remains defensible on the day the chair is filled, by whoever fills it.
Can values travel without arriving as conquest?
Arrive, rename, overwrite is the well-worn route, and plenty of good intentions have taken it. The slower alternative is to listen first for what a place already holds and mirror rather than replace, so the local version belongs to the locals. Can a definition spread that way and stay honest about which parts are borrowed?
What would count: a translation of the trinity made by a community the authors never met, in terms the authors did not anticipate, kept and owned by that community.
What observation would show this working rather than being performed?
Time passing does not confirm a claim that had no way to fail; it only insulates it. So what would count as evidence that alignment toward joyful responsible abundance is actually happening, and what would count as evidence that it is not?
What would count: a marker stated before the result, in public, with a date, that could have come out the other way.
Who are the many, and how are they asked?
This project keeps saying the bound gets drawn by the many rather than handed down by one or a few. That is a comfortable thing to write and an unsolved problem to run. Which many: everyone affected, everyone who turns up, everyone who can be reached? A definition assembled from whoever happened to be asked is still a definition handed down, just with more signatures on it.
What would count: a bound drawn with people who were sought out rather than self-selected, where the method of asking is published alongside the answer and somebody who disagreed can show they were heard rather than counted.
Who keeps the accounts nobody can sign?
If others is wider than people, then soil and water and the hive keep accounts that no signature here represents. Beekeepers can report what the bees are doing; the bees cannot sign. Every mechanism on this site, the file, the pledge, the map, assumes a party who can consent and object. What does a definition owe to the parties who can do neither, and who holds their line without quietly speaking for them?
What would count: a decision where a non-human account changed the outcome, traceable to an observation rather than to somebody's sympathy, and a method that says plainly how it avoids becoming ventriloquism.
