The business
An Australia-wide network designing escape rooms, linking them into tourism routes and renewing the catalogue for repeat visits. Recorded play supports reflection on language and teamwork, followed by practice in another room or everyday setting. Recording is the standard design, with a clear opt-out.
Aura of Intelligence connects participant-directed learning across visits. p4a-xyz-cinema connects local stories, civic scenarios and public explanations. Paid contractors supply creative, trade and specialist work; AI assists research and computation.
Capacity and market prices
Competitor-price comparison · Editable assumptions
Puzzled prices groups of four to six at $42 per person, with a six-player room limit. Fox in a Box Brisbane advertises 10 rooms and 60 simultaneous players. Escape This Perth CBD lists 14 rooms and 108 places. These are individual venues. Escape This's 48 rooms and 336 places span five venues, detailed in the market chapter.
The comparison below uses the $42 competitor price. Timing, attendance and trading inputs are assumptions: 8 offered sessions per room per day, 250 trading days, 50% sold and 5 paying players per sold session. A 60-minute game plus 15-minute reset permits eight starts within a ten-hour room window. Briefing, reflection, staff and support space need separate capacity checks.
| Annual comparison | One room | Four rooms at one location | Four rooms at each of five locations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Available team sessions | 2,000 | 8,000 | 40,000 |
| Sold team sessions | 1,000 | 4,000 | 20,000 |
| Paid visits | 5,000 | 20,000 | 100,000 |
| Ticket receipts including assumed GST | $210,000 | $840,000 | $4,200,000 |
| Ticket sales excluding assumed 10% GST | $190,909 | $763,636 | $3,818,182 |
These are ticket-turnover comparisons before costs. Each location is assumed to achieve the same attendance. At four or six players per sold session, the one-room receipt comparison becomes $168,000 or $252,000. The calculator changes price, group size, demand, timing, rooms and locations together.
Commercial questions
The revenue opportunities are local admissions and workshops; room design and installation; network booking and support; and paid maintenance, renewal and rotation. Each needs its own cost and customer evidence.
The largest gaps are delivered premises and room costs, recording performance and review time, a feasible paid roster, local demand and repeat bookings. Supplier benchmarks appear in the economics chapter. The finance calculator withholds an operating result until its cost fields are completed.
